Night Three of Hans Williams' βMore Than One Way Homeβ tour was greeted with a sold-out show at Antoneβs Nightclub in Austin, TX. Williams played every track off of his new EP More Than One Way Home, as well as long-time fan favorites such as, βAll Is Wellβ. Williams expressed great gratitude for his touring band, which included Richard Rourke, Elliot Miller, Jose Pizzolato and Isaac Worely. Williams' delivery of his song βThe Trekβ particularly stood out, as it is seemingly about struggling through a long-distance relationship. Williams explained however, that while this isn't exactly wrong, the inspiration for this song is actually based on a time when he was thinking of his grandmother and how infrequently he sees her. He told the crowd, ββ¦Not to, you know, put a cap on her life, but if I see her this often, I'll only have this much time left to see herβ. Before playing the song, he went on to encourage the crowd to call their family whenever they think of them, instead of waiting for a reason. While Williamsβ lyrics tend to be on the more melancholic side, his character and stage presence made this show extremely enjoyable, even for those who may not love sad songs. Between the diversity in instruments and lush multi-part harmonies, Williams and his band members delivered incredible sound to all 400 attendees, proving that not only is there more than one way home, but that home is where the heart is.
Bo Staloch
Austin native, Bo Staloch, opened the stage for Hans Williams, with Americana/country music that will surely take him places. While Staloch may have a slightly gentle presence, he gives nothing less than 100% of sheer energy when performing. Staloch played his unreleased song, βHellβs On The Looseβ, which will debut in May, as well as the popular βBirds Of San Franciscoβ, βDown The Lineβ and the song he co-wrote with John Vincent III, βWithout Youβ. He also played his top track (currently over 1.1 million streams on Spotify), βSpringtime Red Tulipsβ, which he introduced by saying, "β¦this song has taken me places and is taking me placesβ¦"βa statement nobody in the room would disagree with. Bo Staloch is definitely an artist you will want to keep an eye on, as he continues to grow as an artist. Maybe the melodies are slow, but he certainly wonβt be slowing down anytime soon.
