Internet-star-turned-musician, D4VD (pronounced "Davidβ), is an American singer-songwriter and musician known for his unique blend of alternative, R&B, and indie music. He gained popularity with hits like βRomantic Homicideβ and βHere With Meβ. Originally starting as a gamer who created music for his videos, he quickly transitioned to music full-time, gaining a dedicated fan base with his emotive lyrics and distinctive sound. His performances are known for their intimate and engaging atmosphere, connecting deeply with audiences.
At his concert in Austin, the experience was immersive and emotionally charged. His combination of styles created a distinctive sound that resonated with his fans. The atmosphere was electric, with elaborate lighting and stage decor as he ran and jumped all around the stage from the second the show started. He even pulled off a number of backflips throughout the night. D4VD often engaged with the audience through personal stories, like how he got into music, and the inspirations behind his songs, fostering a strong connection. He did something that I found was particularly personal and that was bringing his little sister on stage. She was probably around 9 years-old and he let her sing with him. On top of this glance into his family, he invited his opener, Scott James back onto the stage to play an unreleased song called βThere Goes My Babyβ. He let the crowd know that the song would be coming out next month. Overall, his stage presence was charismatic, and the visuals and lighting enhanced the mood, creating a captivating environment.
A blend of emotive performances, engaging storytelling, a powerful connection with the audience, along with intense lighting design, provided a truly unforgettable experience for his fans.
Scott James came out to open for D4vd. His music was entirely different from his from the show to come but still all worth the listen. He started by playing a compilation of songs from his songs that heβs released. Near the end of his set, few fans in the crowd shouted for him to play his song βOne of a Kindβ which he was flattered by. He told the crowd how much this request meant to him, as he had never had fans requesting songs before. His time on stage was relaxed and down to earth. While his music was very different from the artist that they showed up for, the crowd was completely attentive and supportive of his performance.
