Bailen is a trio consisting of two fraternal twins, Daniel and David Bailen, and their younger sister, Julia Bailen. Though they're based out of New York, their indie-folk feel fit right at home in Austin, Texas. Opening the night with βLeave Me Wanting Moreβ, they lead the night with tight-knit harmonies, born from years of creating music together. Bailen has a very down-to-earth presence on stage, making them easy to connect with, and making the audience feel very comfortable. Closing out the night with their most popular song, "Something Tells Me," they expressed their gratitude for their opening act, Rett Maddison, and invited her to join them on stage. Check out their newest album Tired Hearts (Deluxe Edition).
Rett Madison
Originally from West Virginia, but now based out of L.A., Rett Madison opened the night for Bailen to great acclaim. Quite personal on stage, she was very open about her West Virginia upbringing, and her experience growing up Catholic, telling the story of how while going to church with her family, her sister, whom is lesbian, was not being accepted by the Catholic teachers. She reminisced about how she defended her sister and tried to change peopleβs mind about her, until Rett realized that she too was gay. She realized how unwelcoming the church felt on the receiving end of the controversy and stoped attending. She acknowledged and answered almost every question asked by audience members throughout the show, while also leaving plenty of time to perform her most popular tracks, including βFleasβ and βSkydivingβ, off her debut album One For Jackie. The album is dedicated to her mother whom suffered from depression and died by suicide in 2019.
