The Criticals
A return to 1970s New York via Nashville, the high-energy indie rock n roll The Criticals blew the roof of The Echo on Monday. Long-time friends Parker Forbes and Cole Shugart have become meteoric hits within and without the Nashville scene, their first show selling out the famous Exit/In venue (something only achieved by the likes of Elton John, R.E.M. or the Red Hot Chili Peppers). Check out their newest release Front Door Confrontations.
Amber Wild & Hardcastle
Being the son of legendary KISS guitarist Paul Stanley doesnβt hurt, but Evan Stanley stands on his own ten fingers with his band Amber Wild (along with Thomas Lower, Marshall Via and Jacob Massanari) in opening for The Criticals. Pure energy a la KISS or Zeppelin, their sound is the perfect fit for cutting loose and going wild.
The second Nashville-based band on the billing, Hardcastle (Graham & Miles Laderman, Val Hoyt and Noah Christian) bring their own sense of nostalgic rock, fusing The Beatles, Radiohead and old school punk into a sound that got everyone at The Echo on their feet.
