Freak Slug :: Huron John

Freak Slug will enchant you. Joining them on their 2025 tour across the U.S., opener Huron John warned us about their British charm before they graced the stage. Hailing from Manchester, Xenya Genovese and her captivating band are sure to make you forget about the outside world as long as they're performing. Before they even picked up their instruments, I had to prepare myself, because I know when everyone in the band seems super cool by looks alone, it's going to be an unforgettable show. Each musician blended their talents to present something to us delicately haunting yet sweet, the embodiment of Freak Slug. Nico Thomsen, also known as “Niquo”, added to the lovesick sound with his guitar, seamlessly connecting with Alex Martin on bass and drummer Caitlin Mounteer. I suggest you check out their latest album, I Blow Out Big Candles (But With a Cherry On Top), released on March 7th, which features signature songs like “Sexy Lemon” and “Liquorice”. And if you live somewhere in the U.S., they're not done with us yet! Check out their tour dates to see if it's not too late for you to catch a great show!
