β€œThe Girl’s Room” was an unforgettable night of empowering women artists in honor of National Women’s History Month at Brick & Mortar in San Francisco on March 12th.

Liv Belda opened the night by recognizing the importance of Women’s History Month and encouraged the audience to continue uplifting the women in their lives.  She recently released her EP Lovesick.  She had the crowd dancing along to her upbeat songs including title track β€œLovesick,” β€œTempted Eyes,” and β€œDark Roast.”  Belda covered Rayana Jay’s β€œBreakfast in Bed.”  To close out her set, Belda performed an unreleased song titled β€œSkincare,” sharing with the crowd that it would be released at midnight, the night of the show.  This created an intimate moment of sharing new work, yet to be released to the world.

Next to take the stage, Jessica Samiere opened for Tyler Reese.  Samiere started off by encouraging the audience and reminding them how much the matter with a heartfelt, β€œ...Don’t give up on your dreams.  Don’t give up on you, and don’t give up on the hope that was promised for you because we’re all waiting for you.  We need you.  We need your magic.”  She then beautifully covered Daniel Caesar’s β€œJapanese Denim.”  On that heartwarming note, Reese and her band joined the stage.

Tyler Reese had an incredible set and performed songs such as her hit β€œPromise.”  As an intro to β€œCamino Muerto,” Reese introduced her co-writer Lehnen Raphael, who was β€œstraight from Toronto,” having just hopped off a plane today and then hopped on stage at Reese’s invitation.  Reese described β€œThe Girl’s Room” as a safe and comfortable place, like her own room.  She even brought a stuffed Curious George on stage as if inviting us all to her room for a girl’s night sleepover.  Reese spoke highly of women in between songs and towards the end of her set encouraged everyone in the crowd to β€œgo kiss a woman,” inspiring everyone to celebrate all the women in their lives.

Kelsey Kindall brought the night home with hits such as β€œSmoke” from her new EP Goodbye Party.  Kindall is currently in the process of releasing The Parties, an EP trio. Goodbye Party is available now and Afterparty and Pityparty will be released later this year.  Kindall comes from a theatre background and loves performing, which was evident in the energy she brought on stage.  Kindall’s set featured two halves: a pop star performance with a full band, followed by a Broadway-inspired moment with choreographed dancing, including backup dancers Alex Hao & Darian Gemora to songs such as β€œWiplash.”  Kindall has an amazing stage presence and got the crowd singing along to songs from Goodbye Party, such as the β€œ1, 2, 3!” chant in β€œBad Idea.”  Kindall taught the fans the chorus to her single β€œTalk” and was met with their enthusiastic harmonies to her catchy song.  Her energy was contagious.

Overall, it was an empowering evening filled with strong performances that uplifted and celebrated women everywhere.  Each performance was beautifully crafted to inspire, motivate and uplift.β€œThe Girl’s Room” was a powerful celebration of women, offering a safe space and amplifying women’s voices and stories
