Drew Holcomb and The Neighbors is an American band based in Nashville, Tennessee, known for their rich blend of Americana, folk, and rock music. Their concert in Austin was a heartfelt experience, characterized by soulful vocals, intimate songwriting, and a strong connection with the audience. The band is made up of Drew Holcomb (lead vocals, guitar, harmonica), Nathan Dugger (guitar, keys) and Rich Brinsfield (bass). They played a very healthy blend of their new and old music but made sure to walk the audience through their connection with the new album Strangers No More

Holcomb shared stories behind the songs, adding context and depth to the music. This storytelling aspect made the live performance particularly moving, e.g. towards the end of the night, the band played a moving cover of “When We Were Young” by Adele, but beforehand told a tear-jerking story of how much this song meant to him. He told the crowd about a time when he was listening to this song while holding his baby daughter and absorbing every lyric of the song as it intently resonated with his newfound fatherhood. He didn't know it at the time, but his wife was recording them and this song would go on to make him think of this moment as a reminder to cherish every second with them. Another very special moment of the night was when he brought Jac Thompson to the stage. Jac is selling the merch for Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors tour and is an incredible musician herself. Drew introduced her as one of his personal favorite songwriters. She definitely lived up to the title as she played a song for the crowd with the support from The Neighbors. Mark your calendars for June 28th as Jac will be releasing her debut record.

Overall, not only did Drew Holcomb and The Neighbors delivery an amazing live performance, they gave everyone in the venue a sense of family and belonging no matter where they may have been coming from.
